A dramatic turn has been seen after a long period of intense tension and diplomatic stalemate between Iran and the United States. US President Donald Trump has claimed that a deal with Tehran has been ‘completely signed’. However, he did not provide any clear information or explanation on whether this historic agreement has been officially signed by Iran or what the main terms of the agreement are.
Trump made this big announcement while participating in a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron. Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, a very sensitive and strategically important waterway in world politics, Trump said that the deal has already been completed and as a positive effect, the Strait of Hormuz has been partially opened.
At this time, Trump also made a big promise to reassure the international community. He said that this important waterway will be fully opened for international trade and shipping by next Friday (June 19).
This sudden and brief announcement by President Trump has created a major stir in global politics and energy markets. Because a large part of the world’s mineral oil is transported through the Strait of Hormuz. However, after this single claim by Trump, there has been no official response or confirmation of the truth of the agreement from the Iranian government. As a result, world leaders are now looking to Tehran’s statement to know the stability of this agreement and the real conditions behind it.
