The Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) has reported that heavy rainfall accompanied by intense lightning is likely to occur across vast regions of the country starting tonight.
The organization stated that this rainfall and lightning activity could take place in several districts across the eastern, central, and southern regions between 10 PM on Saturday (September 19) and 12 PM on Sunday. Heavy rainfall is also expected in many areas during this period.
BWOT indicated that favorable atmospheric conditions would lead to significant weather changes in 37 districts and their surrounding areas. Specifically, regions including Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Munshiganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira, Narail, and Jashore are likely to experience gusty winds along with one to three spells of heavy rain and intense lightning.
During this time, temporary heavy rainfall may occur in several locations across the Chattogram, Sylhet, and Barishal divisions. Light to moderate rainfall is also forecast for one or two places in other parts of the country. Additionally, rainfall may spread to several districts in the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions of the northern region between Sunday afternoon and night.
