Three passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed after being run over by a truck in the Dhirashram area of ​​Gazipur Metropolitan City. Three others were injured in the incident. The identities of the deceased and the injured could not be immediately ascertained.

Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police’s Sadar Police Station, stated that the accident occurred yesterday, Wednesday, afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported that a speeding truck struck an auto-rickshaw—which was traveling from Tongi to Joydebpur—from behind. Two passengers died at the scene. Another person, who was critically injured, passed away after being taken to the hospital.

OC Aminul Islam said that three people were killed and three injured when the truck ran over the auto-rickshaw in the Dhirashram area. Police were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. Efforts to ascertain the identities of the victims are underway. All three deceased were men; preliminary information suggests they were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
