Three more patients with suspected measles have died in the country over the past 24 hours. During the same period, 980 new suspected cases and 84 confirmed cases of measles were identified.

This information was disclosed in a notification issued on Saturday by the Integrated Control Centre of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The data covers the period from 8:00 AM on September 25 to 8:00 AM on September 26.

According to the notification, a total of 186,813 suspected measles cases have been identified in the country between March 15 and September 26. The number of confirmed cases during this period stands at 21,999.

In the same timeframe, 165,155 patients were hospitalized, and 158,576 were discharged after receiving treatment.

Among the deaths of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours, one person died in each of the following divisions: Dhaka, Chattogram, and Khulna. This brings the total number of deaths among suspected measles patients to 986 since March 15. During the same period, 101 confirmed measles patients have died.

Division-wise, the highest number of suspected measles cases in the last 24 hours was detected in Dhaka (394). This was followed by Chattogram (242), Sylhet (131), Barishal (95), Mymensingh (62), Khulna (32), Rajshahi (15), and Rangpur (9).

From March 15 to September 26, the highest number of suspected measles cases was recorded in Dhaka (79,314). The figures for other divisions are: Chattogram (37,159), Barishal (20,284), Khulna (12,277), Sylhet (14,935), Rajshahi (10,458), Mymensingh (9,156), and Rangpur (3,230).
