Two brothers were killed in an ambush by rivals over a dispute over dominance and land in Chamallikpur village of Lohagara in Narail.

The attack happened around 9:30 am on Wednesday. In this incident, there is extreme tension in the area.

The deceased are Miran Sheikh (45) and Ziaur Sheikh (40), son of Samad Sheikh of Chermallikpur village of Mallikpur Union. Another brother of the deceased, Iran Sheikh, was injured.

It is known that there was a dispute over land between the people of SM Ferdous and Mahmud Khan in Chermallikpur village of the upazila. On Wednesday morning, the supporters of Ferdous, his three brothers Miran Sheikh, his brother Ziaur Sheikh and Iran Sheikh, were ambushed by the people of the opponent Mahmud Khan with domestic sharp weapons. Three brothers were seriously injured by the sharp weapons of the enemy. Later, they were quickly rescued and taken to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, and the doctor on duty declared Miran and Ziaur dead.

Lohagara police station OC Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter and said that the body has been recovered and sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Efforts are being made to arrest those involved in the murder. Additional police have been deployed at the spot.
