Dr. Finance and Trade Advisor urged to reduce wastage of government money. Salehuddin Ahmed said, instead of relying on foreign loans, emphasis should be placed on raising funds from own sources. The government needs money right now. For this, the wastage of government money should be reduced.

He made this call at a discussion meeting on the changes brought in the field of direct taxes through the ‘Finance Act, 2024’ organized by the Bangladesh Civil Service (Taxation) Association at the auditorium of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) at Agargaon in the capital on Saturday (September 14).

The financial adviser said that taxpayers should not be afraid. There can be no discrimination in the tax structure. Do justice to them.

He said, foreign investment will not be available much. Depend on internal revenue. Therefore, the length of revenue collection should be reduced. Cannot be evaded directly. But we have an indirect problem. Do not collect revenue from anyone through hardship.

He also said that a meeting will be held with the US Treasury Department on economic reforms. They will be asked for their cooperation in the renovation work.

At that time, announcing that the laws of NBR are business friendly, Chairman of the organization Abdur Rahman Khan said, I request everyone to submit returns online. People are burdened with debt while NBR is not able to collect the desired revenue. Gotta get out of here.
