Police has arrested former Minister of State for Aviation Mahbub Ali. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Intelligence Department (DB) chief Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed that he was arrested from Segunbagicha area of the capital around 10:30 pm on Sunday (September 15).
He said a team of DB arrested him from Segunbagicha area. However, he did not say anything about the case in which he was arrested.
Mahbub Ali was elected Member of Parliament for Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat and Madhavpur) Constituency in the 11th National Parliament Election. After being elected as Member of Parliament of Awami League for the second consecutive time from the seat, he was given the responsibility of State Minister of Aviation and Tourism Ministry. After becoming the state minister, there were widespread allegations of irregularities and corruption against him.
