A youth was beaten to death with a bamboo for not getting a cigarette in Kaiargaon area of ​​Sadar Upazila of Sunamganj district. The incident happened in that area on Sunday (September 15) at noon.

The deceased youth is Kurbar Ali (27), son of Dhan Mia of the same village. Abedin (22), son of Pundit Mia, accused in this incident, has been arrested by the police.
According to local sources, Kurbar Ali was spending time sitting on the bank of the river on Sunday afternoon. When Abedin asked him for a cigarette, he refused to give it. At one point, when the two of them got into an argument, Abedin beat Kurbar Ali with a bamboo and left. Later, when the locals saw Kurbar Ali’s body lying there and told the cousin of the deceased, Mohammad Hossain, they reached the spot and found him dead. On the other hand, the murderer Abedin accompanied his three brothers Ashiq, Aladin and Aqibal and threatened Mohammad Hossain’s house. Then the local villagers detained them and informed the police, Sunamganj Sadar police station reached the spot and took them to the police station.

Sunamganj Sadar Police Station OC Md confirmed the truth of this incident. Abdul Ahad. He said, after making a surathal report, the dead body was recovered and sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy. Till this report was written, the police was preparing the case.
