The executive director of the private research institute Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD). The government has appointed Fahmida Khatun as the director of the board of directors of Bangladesh Bank. On Thursday (September 19), a notification has been issued in this regard from the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance.
It said that Fahmida Akhtar Khatun, Ph.D., Executive Director of CPD has been appointed as Director of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of her joining.
Afchana Bilkis, Deputy Secretary of the Financial Institutions Department, said in the notification, according to Article 9(3)(C) of the Bangladesh Bank Order 1972, the Executive Director of CPD Dr. Fahmida Akhtar Khatun has been appointed as Director of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Bank for a period of three years from the date of her joining.
The notification also said that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
