Instructions have been given to stop standing in the middle of the road and stopping the random parking of vehicles on the road.
Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md. gave instructions in the ‘discussion meeting with bus owners to implement fair management and order in public transport’ at DMP headquarters on Saturday (September 21). Mainul Hasan.
He said, ‘Driving unfit vehicles on the road, standing in the middle of the road and getting on and off passengers and randomly parking vehicles on the road should be stopped. Drivers and bus workers need to be more aware and careful about this. They need to be monitored more and brought under accountability.
DMP Commissioner said, ‘If everyone works sincerely, we will be able to keep the traffic congestion in the metropolis at a tolerable level. Dhaka Metropolitan Police will always be by your side for any need.
Md. Mainul Hasan said, “I took charge as the DMP commissioner in a special situation after the student uprising on August 5. Then there was a kind of disorganization in roads and public transport. In a very short time, we have made progress from that situation and returned to normal.
The meeting called for more cooperation from the bus owners and awareness meetings to increase the awareness of the bus workers.
DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Farooq Ahmed, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Khondkar Najmul Hasan, Joint Commissioner of Police, Police officers of various ranks of Traffic Department, Citybus owners and representatives were present in the exchange meeting.
