A.League leader’s shelter in Kanaighat arrested while fleeing to India 4

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) arrested four people while illegally entering India through Kanighat upazila border of Sylhet to Awami League leader’s shelter.

Today Tuesday (September 24) around 11 am a patrol team of Dona BGB camp arrested them from No. 1332- Peeler of Mikirpara border area.

The arrested are Azgar Molla son of Mannan Molla of Charkochia village of Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur district, Mizanur Rahman son of Sheikh Akhter of the same village and his brother Bajlar Sheikh and Shakhawat Kabir son of Abdur Rahman of the same village.

Meanwhile, Salim Uddin, son of Kala Mia of Mikirpara village of Lakshiprasad East Union of Upazila and general secretary of Ward A.League, helped them to go to India. The detainees provided this information during the initial police interrogation. They also said that a person named Shaheen of Mikirpara village stole 24 thousand rupees from them. He is the leader’s own brother. The four of them spent the night at that person’s house on the previous Monday. BGB caught them red-handed when they tried to enter India on Tuesday morning. Later they were handed over to Kanighat police station. Till the writing of this report, the preparation of the case was going on at the police station.
