The former top corrupt OC Tajul of Sylhet’s Jaintapur Model Police Station has been transferred but his associate Pretatwa Police Station is still in place. SI Ashraf, the disciple of the former OC, did not collect any contribution from smuggling, stone-sand palaces. For mysterious reasons, he is still carrying on the extortion business from hiding in the Jaintapur Model Police Station.
Field investigation revealed that Jaintapur Model Police Station (up-district) has no smugglers, sand-stone and earth-mining syndicate members with whom they have no deep inter-connections. The account of all the illegal Indian goods that enter Bangladesh through the Jaintapur border area at night is in the pocket of that boss. From top smuggling millionaires to other members, his in-laws are related. Again, if the subscription was not received, Ganesh reversed the moment. He created the stage of drama in the name of Abhiyan to accompany them. Most of his raids are seen in the seizure of goods without arresting the accused.
It is alleged that the syndicate group adopted this strategy to speed up their business and keep SI Ashraf in custody. He has a list of everyone from zero to millionaires in the palm of his hand.
Meanwhile, several people who did not want to reveal their names told the reporter that before the fall of the Awami League government, many of the opposition political parties were afraid of it. His gait was erratic. A review of his personal cell phone records from a month or two ago will reveal the sensational and horrific information of these misdeeds. According to the locals, since SI Ashraf joined the Jaintapur Model Police Station, the upazila of irregularity-corruption and smuggling has been rampant. SI Ashraf started ruling Jaintapur in a short time from being a student-shadow of OC Tajul, who was hired as a freedom fighter quota.
On the other hand, a related source of the police station said that earlier SI Ashraf and the current new OC of Jaintapur had worked together in another police station. However, the new OC of Jaintapur Model Police Station denied the matter to the reporter.
The local conscious think that if the higher authorities of the administration have a good vision, it is only a matter of time to stop any irregularities, bribery and corruption. At the same time, they also said that if proper measures are taken against such dishonest policemen, irregularities and corruption will be stopped, otherwise corruption cannot be stopped. Apart from this, the locals expressed their anger and said that if the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is started to work at the field level after completing the list of top smugglers and corrupt people, it will be possible to bring the millionaires from zero to illegal means under the law.
