Dr. Yunus told the business leaders of the United States, “The United States has been an important economic and development partner for Bangladesh for a long time. As a single country, the US is our main export country and our top source of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). But trade is unusually low.’

He said, “As the United States seeks to diversify its supply chain under the Indo-Pacific policy, Bangladesh is strategically positioned to be an important partner in achieving this goal.”
