The central sub-committee of the martyrs and the injured was reported in the first quota reforms and later the anti-discriminatory student movement, which took place in the movement of the government.
According to the latest data, the committee said a total of 1581 people were martyred across the country. In addition, more than 3,000 students were injured.
The information was given at a press conference organized by the health sub-committee, civic committee and partners at the auditorium of Dhaka University Student-Teacher Center at around 7:30 pm on Saturday.
However, this is not final, the members of the committee said. They said that many of the invitation has come multiple times and many names have not yet been added to the list.
At that time, Tarek Reza, Member Secretary of Health Sub-Committee, said, “With the joint efforts of the Central Sub-Committee of Health and the National Citizens Committee formed by the anti-discrimination movement, we have been able to prepare a preliminary list of martyrs in the anti-student movement across the country.” Our initial list includes a total of 1581 people.
He said, “To check the information of our preliminary list, the committee has been sent to the committee formed in each district. After scrutinizing the information, the committee will provide the final list to the Ministry of Health. ”
“The As-Sunnah Foundation, Human Rights Support Society, Red July and several other companies have helped us in the preparation of the list,” he said. Besides, people of different local level have also assisted us by providing information, which has played an important role in making this list.
Nasir Uddin Patwari, convenor of the Citizens Committee, said, “We have confirmed this information by phone or directly to the martyr family.” However, there are still many more people who are martyred but their names did not come to the list. We are trying their best through the district committees so that every name and information can be verified in our hands.
