In Sylhet three students were killed by lightning, including MC college students. This incident happened on Sunday (September 29) at different places. Another person was injured.

The deceased are – Sylhet MC College student Redwan Ahmad (19). He is the son of Oliur Rahman of Saril village and a BSS 1st year student of Sylhet MC College. Another person named Sufyan (16) who was with him was injured. The incident took place at Dubir Haor area near Saril village of Dasghar union of the upazila around five in the morning. Later, when the locals rescued them and sent them to the hospital, the doctor in charge declared Redwan dead.

Confirmed the truth of the incident, Biswanath police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Rubel Mia.

Meanwhile, a person named Ansar Ali (60) was killed by lightning while fishing in a pond next to his house in Khadimpara Union of Sylhet Sadar Upazila. He is a resident of Katimara village of Khadimpara Union. This incident happened around 11:30 on Sunday. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahparan (R.) police station. Monir Hossain confirmed the truth of the incident.

On the other hand, Masuk Ahmed (41), son of Kanu Mia of Madhya Rajnagar village of East Islampur Union of Companyganj Upazila, lost his life due to lightning. He was struck by lightning while working on the grounds of a school in Rajnagar around 10 am on Sunday.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Companyganj police station, Uzair Al Mahmud Adnan, confirmed the matter.
