Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Asif Nazrul said, anti-people laws will be reformed along with cyber security law.
He said this at an exchange meeting at the NGO Affairs Bureau in the capital on Sunday (September 29).
Asif Nazrul said that the Cyber Security Act will be amended soon. This law cannot be waived at all. Speech offense will be excluded but computer offensive work cannot be excluded. Defamation of someone by hacking a computer cannot be ruled out.
He said the dictator Ershad killed 31 people in nine years. Dictator Hasina killed 1000 people in just two weeks.
The legal adviser said that the right to information was destroyed during the previous government. Laws made could not be properly implemented. A terrible example of anarchy was created. Arrangements will be made so that they do not return.
He said, the big tool of oppression is concealment of information. It is not possible to implement any law without fixing the rule, law, judiciary. The most vocal should be about democracy, voting rights, independence of the judiciary.
