Jahangir Alam, the former secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been arrested by the law and order forces. A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) police arrested him from Gulshan on Tuesday (October 1) morning.
Talebur Rahman, deputy police commissioner of media and public relations department of DMP confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning.
He said, “Dummy elections were done by the Election Commission and the former secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs.” DB has arrested Jahangir Alam from Gulshan.
Earlier, on August 14, the government sent this secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on compulsory retirement.
Jahangir Alam served as Election Commission Secretary during the controversial parliamentary elections on January 7 this year.
