The US has reiterated calls for a full investigation into the deaths of civilians in Bangladesh in recent months in a crackdown on protests.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, ‘We believe there needs to be a full investigation into the protests and the civilian deaths in recent months.’
Responding to a question at a regular news briefing on Monday, Miller added that whoever is responsible, there must be full accountability.
In response to a media-related question, the spokesperson said, they want to see the freedom of the media upheld all over the world including Bangladesh.
