Most of the parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience rain. However, rain is likely in many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions. Along with that, gusty winds may blow temporarily.
Meanwhile, the temperature may drop by one to two degrees Celsius at night across the country, the Meteorological Department said. This forecast has been announced in the weather bulletin on Wednesday.
According to the forecast, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till 6 am next Friday due to the effect of active monsoon.
Due to heavy rain, there is a risk of landslides in some parts of the hilly areas of Chittagong Division.
Rain will increase in the southern part of the country. The department said, under the influence of active monsoon winds, deep convective clouds are forming in the northern Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh. Due to its effect, stormy winds may blow in the coastal areas of the country.
Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to display local warning signal No. 3 to avoid accidents. Besides, the Meteorological Department has asked the fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal to proceed with caution near the coast till further instructions.
