Six separate cases were filed in Golapganj police station and one in the court in connection with the murder. Former education minister Nurul Islam Nahid and the leaders of Awami League and allied organizations have been accused in all the cases.

According to Golapganj police sources, considering the situation at that time, none of the dead bodies of the six people were autopsied. Later, when the case was filed, the investigating officers applied to the court for the autopsy of the body. In view of the application, the court ordered the body to be removed from the grave in the presence of the magistrate.

On September 30, he applied in the court of Sylhet Senior Judicial Magistrate Second Court Judge Abida Sultana. At the hearing, the judge did not order the preservation of the application documents. For this, the order to exhume the body remains in force.
