The chief adviser of the interim government. In the dialogue with Muhammad Yunus, the representatives of Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP expressed their opinion on various issues including election, election commission, election system reform. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this in front of the chief adviser’s residence Jamuna on Saturday (October 5) at 4 pm after the dialogue.

Referring to various issues including the election, he said that the election commission should be suspended on the basis of consensus with the major political parties and the election commission should be formed immediately. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said to give a roadmap on when the next National Assembly elections will be held in a dialogue with the Chief Adviser.

Mentioning that the Chief Advisor has been called upon to announce the roadmap for when the next election will be held, Mirza Fakhrul said, “I have issued an ordinance to cancel the law to take voter ID card under the Ministry of Home Affairs.”

BNP also demanded that no controversial person should be placed in the election reform committee. Mirza Fakhrul also mentioned that they have demanded that all the commissioners of the former three election commissions be brought under the law for conducting fake, controversial and biased elections in 2014, 2018 and 2024.

In response to a question regarding the election, Mirza Fakhrul said, “I did not talk about months and days.” They say the election is their number one priority. They are watching everything. Our demands are the people’s, our demands are theirs.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the discussion took place in a pleasant environment and said, “We discussed the issues related to the elections. We discussed the reform of election and electoral system. I have come with our opinion.

He said, we have said that the election commission should be suspended on the basis of consensus with the main political parties and the election commission should be formed immediately. We asked for a roadmap. I have asked to give the roadmap when the elections will be held.

Claiming the mastermind Justice Khairul Haque to destroy the election system, Fakhrul said that he was the main hero of abolishing the caretaker government. I have spoken about taking legal action against him for the crime of treason.

Most of those in the administration who have worked as allies of the fascist government, assisted, looted, lawless, tortured, disappeared and murdered, are still in their positions, I have asked them to immediately remove them and bring in neutral people.

BNP Secretary General said that BNP wanted to know how the controversial Deputy Commissioner was appointed. At the same time I have asked to cancel the appointment of the accused. I have asked fit lost with qualified people. Asked to cancel some contractual appointments. He said there are two people in the interim government who are disrupting the original spirit of the revolution. Told them to move.

Mirza Fakhrul said that BNP has proposed to give underground promotion to government officials who have been de-promoted in the last 15 years. He said, most of the appointments in the High Court department were on party basis. About 30 judges are still on probation. I have asked to take legal action against them. Asked to remove partisan judges. Asked to appoint new PP-GP as soon as possible.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that those arrested on specific charges (corruption, murder) are being granted bail. It is worrying. I asked to see it. From 2007 to August 5 (2024) I have asked to announce the policy decision to withdraw all the false cases filed during the Awami League era, invisible, false, politically motivated cases and to take necessary measures to withdraw them. Ministers of the previous government, former bureaucrats, many members of law and order forces are fleeing the country. How are they escaping, with whose help are they escaping? I asked to see it.

He said, another thing we have emphasized is that the fallen fascist leader Sheikh Hasina is in India. From there, the campaigns and misinformation are going on around him. I have asked to discuss this with the Government of India and request him to be removed from that situation. They said they will request the Indian government.

He said that the instability that is being attempted in Chittagong Hill Tracts. I have said that it is looking more deeply, who is involved in these incidents, to take action against them. Stating that those involved in the disappearances and murders are still out of reach, BNP Secretary General said that no one has been arrested except Ziaul Ahsan. I asked everyone to be identified and arrested immediately. And asked to take action. A United Nations team has come to Bangladesh, but unfortunately the people concerned are not cooperating with them.

He said that some traditional people are inciting people against Bangladesh in a very planned way around Durga Puja. Mispropaganda is being spread that the Hindu community is being tortured and oppressed. it is false It is a conspiracy against the country. I have asked to consider it seriously and take necessary measures.

Earlier, the BNP delegation sat in dialogue with the chief adviser at 2:30 pm. The delegation was led by the party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Among others are – BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Salauddin Ahmed.
