The court granted a 43-day remand to the former IGP of Police, Abdullah Al Mamun, in 8 cases of various charges, including shooting and killing people during the student-crowd movement. On Tuesday (October 8), the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted remand to Shaheen Reza.
The court said, former IGP Mamun was granted remand in 7 cases of Jatrabari police station and one case of Newmarket police station. His remand will be effective in one case after another.
The court granted the 7-day remand of former IGP Mamun in the Jatrabari police case regarding the shooting death of Shakib Hasan during the anti-discrimination student movement. Emon Hossain Gazi’s 7-day remand was granted in the Jatrabari case. And the court granted a 5-day remand in the Jatrabari case regarding the death of Irfan Bhuiya.
Former IGP Mamun was granted 5-day remand in the case filed at Jatrabari police station in connection with the death of Muntasir Rahman. The court granted a 5-day remand in the case filed at the same police station in the case of van driver Sujan’s death.
Rafiqul Islam was remanded for 4 days in the case of Jatrabari police station. The court granted a 5-day remand in the case filed at that police station regarding the death of Mahmudul Hasan Joy (14). And 5 days remand was granted in the murder case of Newmarket police station.
