Father and daughter died of Vimrul bites in Mymensingh’s Dhobaura. The incident took place on Saturday (October 12) at noon in Dudhon Bazar.
The deceased were Imam Maulana Abul Kashem of Dudhonai Bazar mosque and his 8-year-old daughter Labiba.
It is known that Abul Kashem was coming from home by boat with his daughter. On the way, Vimrul started biting. Later local people rescued them in injured condition and took them to Dhobaura Upazila Health Complex. Later the doctor on duty sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Imam Abul Kashem and Labiba died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Porakandulia Union Chairman Manjurul Haque Manju confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the death of two people due to Vimrul’s bite is very sad. The death of father and daughter together has cast a shadow of mourning in the area. Burial arrangements are being made.
