Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Adviser Nahid Islam said journalists who supported genocide in anti-discrimination student movement will be prosecuted.
He said this in response to a question from journalists after handing over the donation check to those injured in the agitation under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday (October 13).
The information technology advisor said financial donations are being given to the victims of the movement from the Shaheed Smriti Foundation. Before coming to Dhaka Medical, many people have taken treatment in different places, we will also pay their expenses.
Regarding sending the injured abroad for better treatment, he said, all necessary measures will be taken as per the advice of the concerned doctors.
Responding to a question, Nahid Islam said that those who were directly associated with the fascist government, were instigators and supported the genocide will be brought to justice. Apart from this, a committee has been formed in the Ministry of Information to look into any case against someone unfairly.
He said, if any journalist or his family feels that they are suffering due to the case, then if they contact us, we will help them.
Regarding the case of injured and killed, he said that a legal team is working in this regard. We will complete this trial in the Special Tribunal. Those who were martyred and injured in the uprising are the heroes of the country. We recognize the sacrifice of the leaders and activists of various parties who gave their lives in the movement. We request that we do not divide the martyrs and the wounded by any party or banner. We should not use them for our own political interests.
