Two expatriate Bangladeshis died in a fire in a factory building in Malaysia. They died while undergoing treatment after being burnt in a fire in a factory building in the country’s Iskandar Puteri.

Another person is injured in the incident and is in hospital.

The New Straits Times reported this information in a report on Sunday (October 13).

According to the media, two Bangladeshi workers died after being seriously injured in a fire at the Southern Industrial and Logistics Cluster (SILC) in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia. Another is under treatment in hospital.

The New Straits Times said the first person who died of burns in the fire died at 10pm last Friday and the second person died late yesterday at 2.15am. Chief Assistant Commissioner of District Police M. Kumarasan confirmed their deaths.

The two men, aged between 30 and 40, sustained severe burns during a fire at a four factory complex in SILC industrial area last Thursday. Their condition was critical since the fire.

A third person injured in the fire remains hospitalized and his condition has not been released.

It should be noted that a fire broke out in a factory around 11:30 a.m. on the day of the incident. The highly flammable substance Methyl Ethyl Ketone (thin) – including other flammable substances – caused the fire to quickly spread to surrounding units.
