PSC chairman and four members taking oath

Chairman and four members of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) took oath. Tuesday (October 15) in the judges lounge of the Supreme Court Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed recited the oath.

The people who took the oath are – the newly appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Government Work Commission, Professor Dr. Mobashwer Monem, member Dr. Nurul Kadir, Dr. Mohammad Aminul Islam, Md. Suzayet Ullah and Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Amin Majumder.

Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmad Bhunya conducted the oath taking ceremony. At this time, various levels of PSC officials and Supreme Court Registry officials were present.

Earlier, PSC chairman Sohrab Hossain along with members of the commission resigned on October 8. The next day, Dhaka University’s public administration department professor Mobaswer Monem was appointed as PSC chairman by the interim government. Four members were appointed to the organization on the same day.

Professor Mobaswer Monem holds a PhD from the University of London. Completed postdoctoral research from Sussex University and Heidelberg University. He has written two books, contributed to numerous publications. He has published more than 100 articles and technical reports, many of which have been presented in internationally recognized academic journals. Mobaswer Monem has worked as a consultant to various international organizations and has played an important role in shaping public sector management and development practices in Bangladesh.
