Israel continues to attack various areas in Lebanon. On Saturday, 12 airstrikes were carried out in the capital Beirut alone. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also demanded the destruction of tunnels used by the Lebanese armed organization Hezbollah. More than 1 lakh kg (100 tons) of explosives have been used in it.
According to information provided by the Israeli military, the tunnels destroyed in Lebanon were used by Hezbollah’s Radwan forces. In addition, underground structures of mosques, schools and civilian buildings were destroyed using explosives. During this time “many terrorists” were killed. However, Hezbollah has not yet commented on Israel’s claim.
Meanwhile, in addition to 12 airstrikes in Beirut, Israel also attacked southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Two attacks took place near Beirut airport. The airport is still used for civil aviation. In many places, Israeli forces are warning local residents before launching attacks. But not much time was given.
Israel said that the Israeli Air Force attacked Hezbollah’s armory and intelligence office in the Dahiyeh area on the southern outskirts of Beirut. The extent of damage or casualties in this attack is still being verified. Initially, it seems that a multi-storey building was destroyed in the attack.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that five people were killed in an Israeli attack in the Bekaa Valley on Saturday. Among them is the mayor of a local town. Several people were injured in the attack. Rescue workers are working to rescue them.
Hizbollah has also counterattacked Israel on Saturday. According to information provided by the IDF, 180 rockets were fired from Lebanon into the country in the past few hours. On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence was targeted by a drone attack near Tel Aviv. He claimed that there was an attempt to kill him through this.
