Two months ago, the education department was forced to cancel the postponed HSC-equivalent examinations when the examinees protested inside the secretariat. A group of students entered the secretariat yesterday and protested after the publication of the results by ‘mapping’ all the subjects of the SSC and demanding the publication of the ‘unbiased’ results of the HSC examination.

A very heated situation was created inside the secretariat yesterday around this protest. At one point, the police chased the protesting students. During this time many of the protesting students were beaten. Apart from law and order forces, various levels of people working in the secretariat also beat the students. The protesting students dispersed. At this time, the police arrested 54 people.
