Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Nicholas Weeks met Industrial Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan. They met on Monday (October 28).
Meanwhile, the ambassador of Sweden said that 170 Swedish companies have invested in Bangladesh. He sought the help of industrial advisor for overall cooperation to these institutions. He also said that the government of Sweden is making an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs and small and cottage industries in Bangladesh. In this case, BCIC, SME Foundation and SMCIF under the Ministry of Industry can be involved.
Zakia Sultana, senior secretary of the Ministry of Industry, requested Sweden to provide technical cooperation in the development of textile, pharmaceutical, ICT and agro-food processing industries. Meanwhile, the industrial advisor assured Sweden of all cooperation.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Industry were present during the meeting.
