The interim government has decided to waive the salary and tuition fees of the students injured in the uprising for life. The Ministry of Education announced this information in a notification issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Tuesday (October 29). The ministry has also mentioned in the notification what process should be adopted for fee waiver.

According to the notification, the government has decided to waive the salary/tuition fees of the students from secondary to university level (all public and private schools, colleges, madrasas, technical and universities) who were injured in the student uprising in July-August 2024. Injured students will apply to the head of their respective educational institutions along with medical records.

The decision will be effective in waiving salary/tuition fee in all educational institutions of the country from the current stage of the injured student’s educational career up to the university. All the concerned educational institutions will immediately take necessary measures to implement this decision.

The educational institution authorities should immediately scrutinize the applications and take measures to waive the salary/tuition fee of the students.
