Chunarughat (Habiganj) Representative //
The police have arrested an alleged leader of the anti-discrimination student movement for harassing people by giving false information to the police in Habiganj’s Chunarughat.
He was arrested in front of Chunarughat police station gate on Tuesday (October 29) night. The name of the arrested youth is Mahbubur Rahman Tanim (27). He is the son of deceased Abdur Rahim of Amkandi village of Uttara Upazila.
Chunarughat police station OC Mohammad Nazrul Islam told The Daily Morning Sun that the arrested Mahbub has been harassing the common people in various ways by claiming to be the coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement.
He even pressured the police to arrest his personal favourites. Besides, he is misleading the police with false information. The police are constantly being pressured to arrest innocent people.
He was arrested at night after receiving complaints about these issues. The OC also said that the process of sending the detained Mahbub to court is underway.
