BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that reforms cannot be successful without politicians. Therefore, the main goal of the interim government should be to hold fair elections instead of going the other way. He also commented that the interim government has no other political agenda.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized at Dhaka Reporters Unity yesterday (October 30).

Mirza Fakhrul said, we believe that the interim government has no other political agenda. Who is the chief advisor of this government, he is respected all over the world. He himself has said that he has no political will. “I am fulfilling the responsibility you have given me.”

Mirza Fakhrul requested Dr. Muhammad Yunus and said, “The people of this country have respected you and want to respect you.” Be careful not to waste space.

National People’s Party (NPP) organized this discussion meeting on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.

Mirza Fakhrul paid tribute to those martyrs whose sacrifice and blood Awami League was forced to flee. Besides, he paid respect to all the political parties that Awami “against the fascists”.

Commenting that Awami League is a terrorist group, he said, their character is militant, another is terrorism.

Expressing optimism about the interim government, he said that the government will arrange an acceptable election within a reasonable time. People can vote in that election and form a new parliament. This is our expectation. This is what the people want.

Drawing attention to the initiative to form the Election Commission, he said that the interim government has announced a search committee for the formation of the Election Commission. Although it was necessary to consult the political parties before forming the search commission; There was such an expectation. Anyway, I don’t think there is any major problem with it.

Stating that the political struggle never ends, this top BNP leader said, the political struggle continues. The reform process continues as such.

He said, we expect that the government will quickly take the report from the reform commission and present it to the people and take it forward.
