Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus felicitated the Bangladesh women’s football team that won the SAFF Championship. At that time, he also listened to the various problems of the women footballers. The Chief Advisor asked the women footballers to give their problems in writing. And he assured to solve them soon.

Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan told the media this. He said that the ministry will take quick and effective initiatives to solve all the problems of the women footballers.

As per the previous announcement, the footballers arrived at the State Guest House Jamuna at 10:30 am on Saturday (November 2). The team’s 23 footballers were accompanied by manager Mahmuda Ananya and head coach Peter Butler. Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud was also present.

Asif Mahmud spoke to the media after the reception. He said, “We have discussed everything including accommodation problems, practice, salary structure. In two-three days, they (footballers) will give us their problems in writing. I will directly convey that to Sir (Chief Advisor).”

The sports advisor said, “The women footballers have said that this success has been possible because the camp runs all year round. They have demanded that it be kept running all year round. We will solve the problems of the women’s football team and all the problems of football together with the new BFF committee.”

What happened in the past will not be repeated, the interests of the players will be seen first, said the sports advisor. Asif Mahmud said, “The stakeholders of sports are our players. They will be above everyone. Earlier, the committee members were above everyone, that will not happen again. I will ensure this at least in my time, God willing.”

The salaries of women footballers are in arrears. There is a lot of noise in the football world about that. Asif Mahmud replied to this question, “As far as I know, there is a two-month salary due. You know that Salahuddin Saheb’s committee was in BFF until now. Now that a new committee has come, we will work out these things with the new committee. Let there be no due in the future. BFF has a huge debt, why is this happening? You (the media) have said at different times that there have been financial irregularities in some places. I have already asked the new committee to audit them. If there have been irregularities anywhere, I have asked them to take action according to the law.”
