The two main contenders, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, have entered a fierce competition in the US presidential election. About 75.1 million American citizens have already voted before the November 5 election, which has set a unique precedent. This information was revealed according to the latest report published on Saturday (November 3) local time. News: Anadolu Agency.

According to the University of Florida’s Election Lab Tracker, 75,093,872 voters have voted early so far. Many of them voted directly at the polling station. This marks the first change in the voting process since the coronavirus pandemic.

The number of registered voters in the United States is currently about 168 million. This election is not like 2020, when most voters voted by mail due to the pandemic. This time, most voters exercised their early voting rights by going directly to the center.

Meanwhile, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump have campaigned in key southern states known as battlegrounds just two days before the election. Harris held a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, and later attended a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

At the rally in Georgia, Harris said that Trump is only busy with his ‘enemies list’. But I want to be busy with my ‘to-do list’.

Kamala also referred to Trump as a ‘vengeful’ and ‘volatile’ person. She said, ‘He is really a person who is not thinking about making your life better, but is drunk on instability, anger and greed for power.’

On the other hand, Trump continued his campaign in Salem, Virginia and Greensburg, Virginia after Gastonia, North Carolina. Trump said at his Gastonia rally, ‘Omala has destroyed everything. I will rebuild it all and America will be prosperous again.

However, according to various surveys, Kamala and Trump are currently leading in several important swing states.

In the United States, the presidential election is not directly elected by the people, but through the Electoral College. The votes of the 538 representatives of the Electoral College determine who will be the next president of the country. And to win the election, candidates have to secure a total of 270 Electoral College votes.

These votes are concentrated in important swing states or battleground states in the United States. Winning these states can pave the way for candidates to win. Because most states directly give their electoral votes to the winning candidate.

According to sources, Kamala Harris is scheduled to appear on the popular television show ‘Saturday Night Live’ today. This step can be helpful in strengthening relations with voters and delivering her campaign messages.

The results of this much-awaited election will not only affect the United States, but also leaders around the world. A victory for Harris or Trump could change America’s policy stance on various global issues, which will have a huge impact on the diplomatic and economic arenas in the future.
