Husband Aziz hacked to death his estranged lover Ashraful Biswas (30) after seeing him in an objectionable condition with his wife Taslima (28) in Sripur, Gazipur. He also seriously injured his wife by hacking her.

The incident took place at Aziz’s house in Bakultala (Channapara) area of ​​Sripur Municipality at 12 noon on Monday (November 04). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sripur Police Station Joynal Abedin Mandal confirmed the matter.

The deceased Ashraful Biswas is the son of Wahab of Asgram village in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district. He used to work in the factory as a partner of the local SS Fashion garment factory. Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Injured Aziz’s wife Taslima has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Aziz-Taslima couple have two children aged 6 and 4.

Accused Aziz is the son of Abul Hossain of Bali Para village in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district. He bought a land in Channapara area about a decade ago and built a house and is living with his wife and children. He is a masonry contractor by profession. Azizul has been absconding since the incident.

Locals said that Aziz’s wife Taslima used to work at SS Fashion Garment Factory next to the house. Due to working in that factory, she met Ashraful Biswas, the owner. At one point, a love affair developed between them and Ashraful used to visit Taslima’s house on various pretexts. When her husband suspected that they were having a love affair, her husband Aziz forbade Taslima several times. Later, she denied it to her husband saying that she was not in a love affair with the official. On Monday morning, around 9 am, Aziz left the house, saying he was going to work. When he returned home around 11:30 am, he suddenly found the door locked from inside and pushed it open. Later, he saw his wife and her extramarital lover, Ashraful Biswas, in an objectionable state. At that time, he took a sharp knife from under the bed and slashed Ashraful Biswas with a knife, killing him on the spot. Later, he slashed his wife’s neck with a knife, causing serious injuries. Locals rescued him and sent him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Joynal Abedin Mondal, quoting locals, said that seeing his wife in an objectionable state due to an extramarital affair, the husband slashed his extramarital lover and his wife with a knife, causing serious injuries. Ashraful, the lover, was killed on the spot. The injured Taslima has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
