BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the current interim government has played an effective role in the last three months after the fall of the Awami League government in the mass uprising. They have killed and disappeared more than 700 leaders and activists. They have filed false cases against more than 6 million people.

He said this after paying homage at the shrine of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday (November 7).

This tribute was paid on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7.

Mirza Fakhrul said, we believe that if everyone cooperates with them (the interim government) and if they are able to hold an election at an appropriate and reasonable time, they will be able to meet the challenges facing the nation.

He said, “Today I have taken an oath to keep the independence intact by stopping the hegemony with the people, and continue the struggle and movement.” They have murdered and disappeared more than 700 leaders and activists. They have filed false cases in the names of more than 6 million people.

Alleging that the Awami League wanted to establish fascism by oppressing and oppressing people after coming to power, the BNP Secretary General said, “They wanted to establish a one-party regime, but by the grace of God, we were able to defeat this fascist government and their hegemony for the third time on August 5.”
