Cold wave may hit various parts of the country in the middle of this month. The Meteorological Department has also predicted several cold waves in December and January.
This information was given in the long-term weather forecast on Wednesday.
The forecast says that 8-10 mild to moderate cold waves may hit the country in December and January. And two to three severe cold waves may hit the northwestern, northeastern and central regions of the country.
Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said that cold waves may continue in December and January. However, severe cold waves will hit in late December and early January.
When asked when winter will arrive, he said that people in North Bengal are already saying that they are feeling the cold in the morning. However, after the 15th of this month, the feeling of cold will develop in the northeastern and northwestern regions of the country.
The meteorologist also said that low pressure areas are often formed in November. Cyclones may occur this month. Low pressure areas may also occur in December, but the chances of cyclones are low.
The Meteorological Office says that there is a possibility of ‘normal’ rainfall in the country in the next three months. During this, the day and night temperatures may gradually decrease.
And from last night to morning, moderate or dense fog may fall in the north, north-western, central and river basins of the country, and light or moderate fog may fall in other areas.
