Advocate Momtaz Uddin Mehdi, the plaintiff in the ‘treason’ case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, has been arrested.
Uttara West Police Station arrested him from house number 14, Road number 6, Sector 9, Uttara around 12 noon on Sunday.
Momtaz Uddin Mehdi was the general secretary of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar. He was also the joint general secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra League.
Police said that there are several allegations against Momtaz Uddin Mehdi. After his arrest, a lot of important information was obtained from him. He gave various directions to Awami League leaders on Facebook and WhatsApp groups.
Uttara West Police Station OC Md. Hafizur Rahman said, we have obtained several important information. For the sake of investigation, we are not disclosing anything now. We will provide details once the investigation is complete.
