The Iranian government has said that it is ready to discuss its nuclear program. However, these discussions will not be under any pressure or intimidation.

Iran’s nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami made this statement at a joint press conference after meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi.

He said, “We have always had a clear and firm position on our nuclear program and we will move forward with it.”

Mohammad Eslami said that Iran will implement this program based on its national interests and will never bow to external pressure.

Senior Iranian officials have sent a clear message to Western countries that attempts to negotiate through pressure or punitive measures will not be acceptable in any way.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said, “Iran is ready to discuss its nuclear program. However, these discussions will be based on equality and mutual respect. We are willing to discuss, but no solution will be found through pressure or threats.”

Analysts say Iran’s stance suggests it could be more transparent about its nuclear program. However, this requires Western countries to create a favorable environment.

Iran believes its nuclear technology is for peaceful purposes and has the right to develop it.

However, the United States and its allies are concerned about Iran’s nuclear program and fear that it could lead Iran to a nuclear weapons capability.

Iran, however, has repeatedly said that its nuclear program is for civilian and energy purposes only.

International analysts believe that some flexibility may be needed from both sides to make the talks successful.

Meanwhile, Eslami noted that if there is a resolution on Iran’s nuclear program, it will respond immediately. They have repeatedly seen that Iran is not affected by any pressure and will continue its program based on national interests.

Eslami also noted that Iran’s interaction with the UN agency on Iran’s nuclear program has mainly taken place under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

European countries are reportedly planning to introduce a new resolution against Iran through the IAEA’s board of directors next week to increase pressure on Iran.

Eslami warned that Tehran reserves the right to take retaliatory measures if a new resolution is passed against Iran.

“If they come to the path of cooperation, Iran is also ready to cooperate. But if they go the other way, Iran will also take the necessary steps,” he added.

Meanwhile, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi called his visit important in the context of the current complex situation. At the same time, he mentioned the long-standing cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.

Grossi expressed hope that the visit would be fruitful and mutual cooperation would be further strengthened. Source: Mehr News Agency
