The newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and four other Election Commissioners (EC) will take oath on Sunday afternoon.
Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Shafiqul Islam said the oath-taking ceremony may take place at 1:30 pm on Sunday. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed will administer the oath.
Earlier, former Secretary ASM Md. Nasir Uddin was appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner last Thursday. The names of four Election Commissioners have also been announced along with him.
The four Election Commissioners are former Additional Secretary Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar, retired District and Sessions Judge Abdur Rahmanel Masud, former Joint Secretary Tahmida Ahmed and Brigadier General (retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah.
President Md. Shahabuddin appointed them in accordance with Article 118(1) of the Constitution.
