The driver was driving fast on the under-construction bridge after seeing GPS, then fell into the river. Three people died in the incident. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh, India. The incident took place in Dataganj of Badaun district from Bareilly, according to Indian media NDTV.
A report on Sunday (November 24) night said that three passengers were going from Bareilly to Dataganj of Badaun district by car. They were driving on the Khalpur-Dataganj road after seeing GPS. The bridge was on the way. The front part of the bridge collapsed into the river during the flood. Later, construction work started on the broken part there. Three people including the driver died in the accident. The police are yet to know the identities of all the deceased.
Police said that the car fell into the river after hitting the broken part of the bridge.
Circle Officer Ashutosh Shivam said that the front part of the bridge collapsed and sank into the river during the flood this year. Then the construction of the bridge started again. Although the GPS was not updated. Due to this, the driver did not realize that the bridge was not safe. As a result, the car fell from a height of 50 feet into the Ramganga River.
Upon receiving the information, the police of Badayun and Bareilly reached the spot. The bodies of the three have been recovered and sent to the hospital for autopsy. The car has also been recovered from the river. Police said that the car was speeding at the time of the accident.
