A court has rejected the bail of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari (38), spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote and former principal of Pundarik Dham in Hathazari, Chittagong, in a case filed for insulting the national flag at the Independence Pillar at New Market intersection in Chittagong city. He was later sent to jail.
The court of Chittagong 6th Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam passed this order on Tuesday (November 26). Earlier, he was produced in the court at 10:50 am.
On Monday (November 25), the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Mancha and principal of Pundarik Dham in Chittagong, from the airport area of the capital at around 4:30 pm.
