Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed has expressed deep concern over the unprecedented incidents in the Supreme Court and the undesirable situation in the district courts.
This was announced in a press release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Supreme Court, Md. Shafiqul Islam, on Thursday (November 28).
The release said that the Chief Justice of Bangladesh expressed deep concern over the unprecedented and undesirable incidents that took place on the premises of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on 27.11.2024 AD and at the same time, the undesirable situation that has arisen in the country’s district courts, including the Supreme Court premises, in recent times.
The Chief Justice further said in the notification that the Bangladesh Supreme Court is closely monitoring the overall situation so that the courts of the country can provide judicial services to the people seeking justice without any hindrance and assures that despite all the adversities and unforeseen circumstances, judicial services are being provided in the courts of the country. The Honorable Chief Justice of Bangladesh has already taken necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of such situations in the courts of the country and has directed all the courts and tribunals of the country to continue their normal activities and continue to provide judicial services to the people seeking justice in the larger interest of the country.
