DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali said, we must forget all our hardships and work for the people of the country. We must take the image of the police to a unique height by doing positive work for the people of the country. The DMP Commissioner said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a welfare meeting organized at the Shaheed SI Shahjahan Auditorium of Public Order Management (POM) in Mirpur in the capital on Saturday.
The DMP Commissioner said, the country is yours, mine, and everyone’s. We do not have the opportunity to leave everything behind. We have to turn around again. We have to serve the people of the country. Therefore, we must forget all our hardships and work for the people of the country to brighten the image of the police.
He said, every work in the service of the people must be done with professionalism. We must dedicate ourselves to serving the people by working professionally, free from influence.
In his speech as the chairman of the welfare meeting, Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Faruk Ahmed said, “It was really difficult to restructure the police and fulfill your responsibilities in the changed situation. We have been able to overcome that situation slowly. For the sake of ourselves and the police force, we have to fulfill our responsibilities properly. It is hoped that we can work together to make DMP more modern, dynamic and a place of public trust.”
This welfare meeting was organized to get acquainted with all the police members working in the Public Order Management (POM) Division of DMP located in Mirpur and to hear their advantages and disadvantages and their views on various issues. In the meeting, police members of various ranks of the POM Division presented some of their specific statements to the DMP Commissioner. The Commissioner listened to everyone’s statements carefully and provided immediate solutions to some issues and assured everyone of quick resolution of other issues. He also gave directional statements on various issues.
The welfare meeting was started with recitation from the Holy Quran. Then, the DMP Commissioner observed a minute of silence with the police members present in memory of the martyrs who were martyred in the mass uprising of July-August. Later, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs and the speedy recovery of the injured.
Joint Police Commissioner (POM) Khandaker Faridul Islam delivered the welcome speech at the welfare meeting.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Md. Israel Hawlader, Additional Police Commissioner (Intelligence) Rezaul Karim Mallick, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Khandaker Nazmul Hasan, Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim, Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners and other officials of various ranks of DMP were present in the meeting.
