BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas said that Awami League has destroyed all the history of the country in the last 15 years. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman is the proclaimer of Bangladesh’s independence. The country’s sector commander’s office was in India. Only Ziaur Rahman had an office in Sylhet.
He also said that Awami League is written in the history books of independence. They did not participate directly in the war. We participated directly in the frontline war.
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a discussion titled ‘Freedom, Democracy and Voting Rights in the Current Context’ organized by the Independence Forum at the National Press Club in the capital on Sunday.
Drawing attention to the torture during the Awami government’s tenure, Mirza Abbas said, we still have to go to court. We have to walk around the court’s balcony. Insha Allah, we will get justice at the right time. There is no year that I have not been to jail. People would ask, “Brother, where is your address?” I would say court or jail. If you go there, you will find me.
Mirza Abbas said, a conspiracy is going on to embarrass this government. Some political parties are working to make this government successful. We are working to take Dr. Yunus Sir on the right path.
He also said, but a group is associating BNP with Awami League. There are some YouTubers in the country who have no work to do and are doing these things. We have proven to be a democratic party. Because we have handed over power smoothly. If Awami League had handed over power smoothly, the country would not be in this situation today.
At the discussion meeting, the party’s Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu said, Sheikh Hasina’s government is distorting history while in power; which has created new history through the historical movement of students and the public.
At the discussion meeting, chaired by Swadhinata Forum President Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah, BNP Joint Secretary General Abdus Salam Azad, General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council Rashed Khan, among others, also spoke.
