BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, ‘We are committed to upholding the spirit of democracy – a democracy that embraces different religious beliefs, trusts and ideals’.
He said these things in a post on Xe (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
The BNP Acting Chairman said, ‘By participating in the elections, Bangladeshis can determine their own destiny. And through this, we want to establish the rule of law, human rights, freedom of expression. We want to protect the rights and freedoms of every citizen. We want to build a participatory, tolerant and law-based society. ’
Tarique Rahman said, ‘The beauty of truth is that it inevitably triumphs over propaganda and conspiracy. It gives us the belief that justice and fairness will eventually prevail. Let us unite to end political vendetta. Let us begin a new chapter in history – where no life and no family will be destroyed because of political differences.
