UN peacekeepers should be deployed in every state of India: Oli

Staff Reporter //

Liberal Democratic Party-LDP President Dr. Col. (Retd.) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram has strongly condemned and protested the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura, India.

In a statement signed by LDP Joint Secretary General Salah Uddin Razzak on Tuesday, Colonel Oli said that the incident of vandalism on the premises of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission is very sad. If Bangladesh stops buying pineapples and jackfruit from Tripura, they will die of hunger. Bangladesh is an independent country acquired through the Liberation War. They know how to respect other countries. Our humanity has not disappeared yet.

Protesting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement on sending peacekeepers to Bangladesh, Colonel Oli said, where was Mamata when Muslims were attacked in different states of India? Why didn’t she protest then. Colonel Oli Ahmed also commented that UN peacekeepers should be deployed in every state of India before requesting the UN to send peacekeepers to Bangladesh.

Stating that there have been no attacks on Hindu businesses and temples anywhere in Bangladesh, Colonel Oli said, “I will invite West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and tell her to travel to every district of Bangladesh on a tourist visa, then you will understand how safe Hindus are in this country. Do not spread misinformation about Bangladesh while sitting abroad.”

Stating that all people in Bangladesh have equal rights, Colonel Oli said, “Bangladesh is a country of peace. Everyone is safe here. Those who spread misinformation do not want the well-being of Bangladesh.”
