BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, the fugitive dictatorship has destroyed the country. They wanted to destroy the future of the people. People trust BNP. So there is still a possibility to save the country. If this possibility is to be realized, we have to prepare. As BNP workers, let us unite and continue to try to fulfill people’s expectations.

He said these things as the chief guest at the Comilla divisional BNP training workshop on Tuesday titled 31 points for repairing the state structure and public engagement.

Tarique Rahman said, many of our leaders and activists have given their lives to restore people’s rights. They have been subjected to imprisonment, oppression, torture. Many more people have given their lives to torture. As a political party, our party’s leaders and activists have been subjected to more disappearances, murders and torture. 6 million leaders and activists have been subjected to cases and attacks. People expect more from this party. We should prepare ourselves to meet the expectations of the people.

Addressing the leaders and activists, he further said, “Thinking about ourselves is not enough. Let us think about the country and the nation. Let us work for the country and the people of the country as much as is necessary for our survival. Then you will be forever memorable to the people of the country. Dear leaders, let us work for the welfare of the country and the people of the country for the rest of our lives and be forever memorable to the people.”

The training workshop was inaugurated by the party’s standing committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain. He said, delaying the elections in the name of reforms would not be right at all. One party is trying to delay the elections through various tactics. But it will cause harm to the country and the nation. The work of repairing the state and reforming it will be possible to do it properly only under the elected government.

The training workshop was conducted by BNP’s Training Affairs Secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, chaired by BNP’s Comilla Divisional Organizing Secretary Selim Bhuiyan. Top leaders of Comilla Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Feni Noakhali Laxmipur district BNP, metropolitan and municipal leaders participated in this Comilla divisional workshop.

The workshop was attended by BNP media wing convener Dr. Moudud Alamgir Pavel, acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s advisor Dr. Mahadi Amin, co-training secretary Rehana Akhter Banu, BNP chairperson’s advisor Monirul Haque Chowdhury, industrial affairs secretary Abul Kalam Azad, relief and rehabilitation affairs secretary Haji Aminur Rashid Yasin, co-relief and rehabilitation affairs secretary Advocate Newaz Halima Arli, co-mass education affairs secretary Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokon, co-organizing secretary Md. Mostaq Mia, BNP executive committee member Abdur Sattar Patwari and Krishak Dal central joint secretary Mahbuba Habib.

After the meeting, instructions have been given to organize training workshops at the district, upazila and union levels. At this time, the leaders and activists pledged not to be involved in any kind of irregularities and corruption if they get the responsibility of running the state in the future.
