RAB apologizes to those who have been tortured and affected

The government will accept whatever decision it takes regarding the abolition of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said RAB Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman.

He made these remarks while exchanging views with journalists at the RAB Media Center on current affairs and recent operational activities on Thursday (December 12).

The Director General said that he apologizes to those who have been tortured and affected by RAB. He said that there are some allegations against RAB, including disappearances and murders, and that the force will not be involved in any such activities or on anyone’s orders in the future. Their trial will be ensured through a fair investigation.

The International Crimes Tribunal is investigating the shootings from the helicopter. The RAB Director General also said that there was a mirror room in RAB and an investigation is underway. All kinds of assistance is being provided in the investigation.

The Director General said that he will work with dedication as long as he remains. Whatever decision the government takes regarding the abolition of RAB will be accepted.
