The dream of 1971 failed due to the failure of one party: Legal Advisor

Dhaka //

Commenting that the dream of 1971 failed due to the failure of one party, the legal advisor to the interim government, Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul, said that that failure should not be repeated.

On Saturday, after paying tribute at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur, he faced reporters and said, “In 1971, despite the sacrifices of many people, many martyrs, we failed to build the Bangladesh of our dreams. Because of the one-party mentality, because of the failure of one party. That failure should not be repeated.” He said, “We remember the martyred intellectuals with respect, admiration and love. They fought for freedom, democracy and human rights. We believe that the July mass uprising took place in continuation of the conviction, love and love for the country with which the freedom fighters jumped into the struggle.”

The legal advisor said, “In the July Uprising, I saw students sacrificing their lives to fight for democracy, human rights and establishing a society without discrimination. Today, I remember them by coming to the memorial of these martyred intellectuals. We should not in any way destroy the second chance we got to form a state in exchange for the sacrifices of the youth. This is our conviction on this Intellectuals’ Day.

Give your opinion and stay tuned.”
